Lunchtime today after visiting the Mangrove Sanctuary I swung through Simpang Siur, the roundabout in Kuta and on a whim decided to have lunch at Cafè Le Bake, located on Jl. Setiabudi. Cafè Le Bake is not to be confused with Dijon Deli, which is virtually next door. CLB is a bakery that serves bread, cakes and a food menu. The place isn't fancy by any means but is comfortable with air con and a smoking section for those who need it. While there I bumped into a waitress named Yuni who used to work at Kori Restaurant in Kuta. Yuni has a 1 year old daughter and told me that being a mother is okay, except she has to work and the worst part is living with her in-laws.
CLB's menu features a wide range of food, including Pandan Fried Chicken (23,000rp), Korean Bulgogi (39,000rp), Fish & Chips (26,000rp small, 39,000rp large), Mediterranean Pizza (26,000rp small, 38,000rp large), Ham Foccacia Sandwich (39,000rp), Gado Gado (16,000rp small, 21,000rp large). I ordered Ayam Pelalah (shredded chicken in spice, vegetables, yellow rice) for 18,000rp. A large portion would have cost 30,000rp. It was tasty and well put together. CLB also serves breakfast and a wide range of drinks including Espresso (14,000rp), Macchiato (16,000rp), Irish Coffee (42,000rp), and Super C Juice (17,000rp). They also serve smoothies and lassies. In fact the drink menu itself is a 4 panel folder.
