Buddha’s Belly is a restaurant, lounge bar and pool hall. It is located on the bottom end of the Sunset Rd. If you are at the roundabout at Simpang Siur, and head towards Seminyak, Buddha’s Belly is a couple of hundred yards up the road on the left side. Open from 11am-1am, Buddha’s Belly serves up some good food according to other Bali mags, and today I checked out the pool area.
I’m a very bad pool player, but appreciate good equipment. The owner of Buddha’s Belly, Chinese Indonesians, have spent a lot of cash on this place. The 14 large tables are made by O’Reilly’s of America and the balls are from Belgium. Inside the place is a glass enclosed smoking pool area and a non-smoking. I went into the smoking area not realizing but was the only person there. My hour of pool cost 25,000rp and everything about the place was positive. The waiters brought me a little snack of Indonesian chips and chilis with my small Bintang.
All the while the DJ was gearing himself up for tonight.
