frog090805.jpgOne of the art shops on Jl. Legian that stand out is Berkat Abadi Art Shop, located on the left side of the street heading down to Kuta. Berkat Abadi has 5ft tall metal sculpture of flamingoes outside. If that doesn't grab your attention nothing will. I talked with the owner Mr. Sutana Hadi Gunawan from Java. He's a chatterbox and speaks pretty good English. He told me all his pieces are made of bronze, with a layer of silver plate. He's got all kinds and all sizes of statues and ornaments, including Buddha's, crabs, frogs playing the mandolin and many other creative ideas. This shop is packed full of stuff and it doesn't cost anything to browse. You might find that unusual gift you are looking for.

Berkat Abadi is open from 10am-8pm Mon-Sat. Mr. Gunawan told me a little 8 inches figure would be 500,000rp, but as usual you will have to negotiate and prices tend to come down when you buy more than one item.
