A restoran with Balinese hospitality is their motto and we found just that when Candika and I dined there.
Ya just gotta check this place out!. The Bali Too Restoran has been around for a while. It’s a large open restoran with a small but quaint alfresco area, and inside is a decent size bar where you can make your eyes square by watching a decent size TV. That’s if you are into that sort of thing!.
The staff, dressed in traditional Balinese clothing, are incredible. It seemed as though nothing was too difficult for them. Besides being very beautiful, the extreme politeness was fabulous.
The menu amazed me. It was brilliantly organised ‘Al a Carte’ fashion. each sectionalised and titled, the startwas the SOUP TOUREEN, followed by THE ACCOMPANIE (great choice of entrees!), before going on to the main sections. The INDONESIAN DELIGHTS amounted to a full page of archipelago yummies. Then there is the CHINESE DELIGHTS - a good selection and each temptingly delicious. the ITALIAN CORNER and the EUROPEAN CUISINE sections offered some great dishes. It was the SEAFOOD/FRUIT DREAMERS that was superb with dishes like Lobster Thermidore. There was even a section named CHEF’S RECOMMENDATION. This included a Balinese favourite, Bali Guling. By the time I got to the DESSERT DELIGHTS section, I was starving!.

Candika reckoned she was in need of some old-fashioned Indonesian food and ordered NASI GORENG ISTEMEWA (Rp12,500). She hoed into it like it was her last meal!. Candika said it was super-tasty and very spicy. The serving was more than ample, and the egg on top looked like it was laid by the biggest chook in Bali!. Candika commented on the tasty satay sticks saying they were superb.
I veered away from the ocean and chose a dish from the ‘European Cuisine’. Hey, I can be adventurous too!. My choice was CHICKEN BREAST ALA BALI TOO (Rp25,000). Marinated breast of chicken grilled and then served on a hotplate with sauteed vegetables. On top of the chicken breast was poured a very creamy mushroom sauce, which I must admit was extremely moorish.
Atmosphere: Super-Delightful
Food Quality: Par Excellence
Service: Brilliant
Rating: 8.5
This is a ‘must go to’ restoran. I did check out the Breakfast menu and it’s brilliant. There is an ‘all you can eat’ buffet for Rp12,500. The Continental was priced at Rp9,000, and the American at Rp15,000.
Any Wombat worth his salt couldn’t pass up on that buffet eh!.
