Candi Dasa is located on Amuk Bay, which is a popular place to dive. The tiny islands in Amuk Bay (Gili Tepekong, Gili Biaha, Gili Mimpang) offer the best diving experience and that’s where the operators aim for.

Bali surfing news: Strong on shore winds today
My neighbour here in Seminyak is an Aussie guy named Julian. His wife is from Spain and the are both surfers. Their daughter is about the same age as Jevon, but when they get the chance they still like to get in the water. This afternoon Julian told me Bali was getting strong onshore winds both on the western Bukit and in Seminyak.

Lawn bowls in Nusa Dua Bali
Lawn bowls is a sport we often associate with white haired couples, and summer afternoons. Its the other end of the spectrum to 10 pin bowling, all noise and whollop. There is one place in Bali where you can play lawn bowls. The Jakarta Post talks about an Australian couple who encourage others to play.

Surf conditions in Bali : August 23rd 2006
Surf conditions were decent today on the Bukit, according to Bali Waves. Wind was ESE at 2-4 knots, water temp was 22C, and the clear blue skies led into a 30C type of afternoon.

Mentawai Islands Sumatra: Best surf destination in the world
A Australian friend of mine, who is in the surfing industry in Bali, one told me that the 2 best surfing destinations in the world were Hawaii and the Mentawai islands, of the west coast of Sumatra. An article by one of the guys who discovered the Mentawai’s, backs that up.
