Balisani Padma Hotel -
Legian, Bali, Indonesia - part II
Some of the large hotels in Bali make concessions to families with young children, with some offering extra beds for kids sharing a room with their parents. Tuban has many family-friendly hotels like the Discovery Kartika Plaza for instance. Tuban is south of Kuta and the closest area to the airport. Being on the beach makes Tuban very popular with family groups and the hotels in the area range from the Discovery type of place with its sprawling grounds and swimming polls to budget places like the Green Garden. The Adhi Jaya is one of them any mid-range hotels in Tuban that also has family rooms. Some people rate the Westin Resort Nusa Dua as the premier family hotel in that area, while others prefer the downtown feel and the 3 swimming pools at the Jayakarta in Legian. Legian is in the center of the tourist scene and that is why so many hotels and restaurants have set up there, including the family friendly Club Bali Family Suites.
Seraya Shores is located out in East Bali on the coast close to Ujung. I like going there because of the scenery and tranquility. It has been several months and there have been some improvements. The south coast of Bali is great for surfing but not the best for swimming, waves and currents. Seraya Shores has built a lovely pool that is just several meters from the ocean. On a sunny afternoon there is nothing better than taking a relaxing swim in the pool, then sitting under one of the bales and enjoying the crashing waves. Well there is, but I cannot write about that in the blog.
Bali has some hidden places that are special and one of our favourite places is Seraya Shores, a small hotel out in East Bali, on the coast close to Ujung.
For me staying at Seraya is one of the best ways to capture a feeling of being in Bali. The swaying palms, crashing surf and very relaxed atmosphere make me want to recommend this place to everyone.

Balisani Padma Hotel -
Legian, Bali, Indonesia - part I
This afternoon I went to check out a hotel in Padma, the popular area in Legian between the beach and Jl. Legian. The Balisani Padma Hotel opened in 1991 and is in the style of a Balinese hotel. The Balisani Padma Hotel is located in the middle of the Australian family package holiday scene Legian. A short 25-minute drive from the airport, the hotel would be a great option for a family with young kids. The location means you can start your holiday within and hour of arriving in Bali. The immediate area offers dining options on Jl. Padma (Stadium Cafe, Drops) and shopping on Jl. Double Six and Jl. Legian. The beach is only a 4-minute walk, via either Jl. Padma or Jl. Double Six.
The Conrad hotel in Benoa, close to Nusa Dua has been voted one of the best new hotels in the world by Conde Nast Traveler magazine. The magazine has an annual Hot List and the latest version came out this month.
The best room in the place in my opinion is the upstairs room in this bungalow. This room is accessed via a staircase that runs along the side of the bottom room from the large porch area. So its possible to have 2 different groups of people staying above each other. The room is spacious with a queen sized bed in the center and a balcony overlooking the ocean and the rest of the property.
