Advertising your Bali stuff on the internet
The ‘information super highway’ is has grown exponentially in the last year, going from 10 million websites, to over 100 million. Search the web for ‘Bali’ and you’ll get 150 geezers flogging villas, plus everyone and his brother writing a ‘holiday blog’ about shopping in Kuta.
Is it possible to use the internet to sell good made / bought in Bali?

Cheap gifts from Bali
Visitors to Bali often like to shop for cheap gifts to bring home for friends. Even if you have a large, extended family, there is plenty of choice in Bali. The main places you will find the best selection of cheap gifts are Pasar Seni’s (art markets). In my opinion you could equally refer to them as junk markets, as there is nothing in them I’d actually buy, but for cheap nick-nacks they are handy.

Fair Trade Outlet Opens: Sanur, Bali
Back in the 1980's there was a place just north of Denpasar called Tohpati. It was here, in several adjoining buildings, artisans of all mediums could display their crafts for sale. It was a place where craftsmen from all over Bali came together as a community.

Sharyn's trip to Bali - November 2005: Tailor-made Stuff and Shoes
Edward Forrer on JL Legian (somewhere near JL Benesari) is still great value for sandals and handbags - all made under their own label. On average women's shoes are about $AUD20 per pair (Rp 140,000) and are good quality-I'm still wearing a pair from 3 years ago.

Ramayana Shopping Mall Denpasar Bali
Ramayana Shopping mall is a place most westerners don’t visit. But a trip to Denpasar might take you past this past. If you head north on Jl. Tueku Umar and keep going, taking the compulsory left turn, onto Jl. Diponegoro, you will see the large orange-brick Ramayana Mall on the right hand side.

Captain Black: Leather jackets made to order in Kuta Bali
Jl. Singosari (Bakung Sari) is a straight road that connects Jl. Pantai Kuta with Jl. Raya Kuta. It is lined with tourist shops selling, paintings, clothing, and massages and has the occasional restaurant. In this area there is a prevalence of leather shops, small hole in the wall places that manufacture their own stuff onsite. I stopped into a place called Captain Black and spoke to the owner, a young guy from Central Java. His salesman Odji was busy on a sewing machine right next to the street getting a part of an order ready. The owner told me they sell short motorbike leather jackets for $70 and other short leather jackets for $60. Of course these jackets are quite thin, not the Harley Davidson quality, but hey, you can get a tailor made jacket fairly cheap here. Captain Black advertises themselves as 'Custom Tailor & Leather Fashions'.
