Billabong Pro Junior Series Indonesia
Billabong has released the official dates for the Pro Junior Series in Bali for 2008, announcing a return to the prime locations of Keramas, Kuta Reef and Canggu for the three event circuit. The inaugural 2007 series dished up some of the tastiest waves the juniors had seen in a long time and 2008 will again see a return to the same venues. The events are open to any global competitor willing to try their hand against the local Indo rippers, you just need to be aged 20 and under. While the events are not ASP sanctioned, (no ratings points) what better way to spend three months than chillaxing in Bali, chewing Nasi Goreng, sampling the local festivities and getting piped with only three other guys in the water.

Handy Beaches: Jimbaran Bay Overview
People staying in the Kuta area, will no doubt sample the delights of Kuta Beach. These include sun, sand, surf, drink vendor, beach massage and handicraft vendors. Some people find Kuta Beach, especially the busy part, in front of McDonalds, to be too intense, the whole environment not conducive to relaxation. One of the handy beaches you might try is Jimbaran Bay. Jimbaran Bay, is actually quite large and I checked a large part of out. The northern part of Jimbaran Bay is given over to a fish market and seafood warungs. The beach is lined with fishing boats and small local drink shops.

Beaches in Candi Dasa
Candi Dasa used to have a good beach, but it washed away, because the locals destroyed the reef for lime. That is a well known story. There is however a bit of beach left, and I checked it out this weekend.

Paradise beaches on the Bukit Bali
Southern Bali is where 95% of tourists come to and spend their time. The most southerly tip of mainland Bali is the Bukit Peninsula. The Bukit is way behind Kuta / Legian / Seminyak / Sanur as far as development, but is getting popular, with people outside of the surfing industry.

Beaches at Padangbai Bali
Padangbai is a quiet fishing village in East Bali. When I visited back in 1993, it was very popular with divers and backpackers. The main attraction of Padangbai, is its rustic character. Bamboo guest houses, complete with cold water showers, wooden floors and mosquito nets, all for a low price.
