Indonesian tranpsort: Varied and exciting
Today I travellled by taxi, planes and a ferry in Indonesia. My journey to Singapore via Surabaya and Batam was uneventful, but there have been some hiccups lately concerning transport systems. Today Indonesian VP Yusuf Kalla took a symbolic train ride from Jakarta to Yogyakarta, showing faith in the country’s transportation.

Ngurah Rai airport in Bali is a funky little place. They place a jazzy version of Balinese traditional tunes over the loudspeaker, there are ‘Oleh oleh Bali’ (Bali gift shops) around and the compact, rundown nature of the place somehow fits with Bali’s village type image.
