Bali House Hunting
Looking for a house in Seminyak Bali
Almost 3 years ago I came to Bali and was looking for a house in Seminyak. This is the main expat area, and there is no shortage of longterm stayers. Reading through an old article from 2003, I remember the thoughts that were going through my mind. I used a company called Bali Land & Houses, located on Jl. Raya Kerobokan, who showed me a selection of places.

My house in Seminyak Bali: part I
The next door house has been rented here in Seminyak Bali. I live on a small gang (alley) in Seminyak off of Jl. Seminyak, the main street. I have been living in my place for about a year and a half and found it by accident. The deal with place is that I rent by the year, cash up front (25m rp) and get a contract). My landlord, Nyoman is pretty straight and I have had funny business. The landlord provides security, a little man who sleeps in the office at the front of the driveway and an outside gardener.

Villas sprouting like weeds in Seminyak Bali
There is a land rush going on in Bali with developments all over the place. In the neighborhood where I used to live just off of Jl. Oberoi(Laksmana) there are big signs up advertising new developments with all kinds of crazy financing and terms of use. Check out this one from Apsara Bali.
Heading down Jl. Drupadi, the street that connects Jl. Dhyana Pura and Jl. Oberoi I stopped to look at work going on there. When I came to Bali in 2003 the connecting road was not finished. Now it is and a new access road is being built to access new villas that are yet to be built. From sawah to villa in 1 easy step. There will be people lining up to get in there no doubt, land in Seminyak and the areas nearby is gold dust.
