Climate Change Conference & environmentally friendly transport
Organizers at the UNFCCC in Nusa Dua have arranged for 200 bicycle for attendees to use. This together with the shuttle buses that patrol the area will help to reduce CO2 emissions during the conference. Here’s more from the Jakarta Post.

Bali bombing anniversary in Kuta Bali
Today is October 12th 2007, the 5th anniversary of the bombings at the Sari Club and Paddy’s bar. This morning I rode down to Kuta to see how things were developing. A police officer told me a ceremony was to take place at the memorial site at 5pm.

Bali Nine drug appeal fails
A constitutional appeal against the death penalty by 3 members of the Bali Nine has failed. The 3, Andrew Chan, Scott Rush and Myuran Sukumaran hoped that Indonesia’s ‘right to life’ law might invalidate their death sentence.

Bali bombers curtain about to fall
The 5th anniversary of the Bali Bombing is coming up this week. The people convicted of planning and executing the bombing which killed 202 innocent people and maimed dozens more, are still alive. Their death sentence being subject to seemingly endless appeals.
