Classic Cafe is one of a handful of places that have opened on the beach side of Discovery Mall Shoping Center in Tuban. Classic Cafe features affordably priced western and Indonesian food, as well as drinks and is a great place for an afternoon snack or evening drink. During the mornings and afternoon, this whole beach side of the Mall is busy with shoppers. Later on in the evening its quietens down, but Classic Cafe has music most nights of the week, going till late.

Friday afternoon I arranged to meet reporter Ketut from the Bali Times. Our interview was scheduled for 3pm at Santa Fe on Jl. Dhyana Pura in Seminyak. Santa Fe is always empty at that time and we had space to sit back and relax. Strangly one of the staff sat with us and was right in on the whole thing.

Dengue fever is a tropical disease spread by mosquitoes. I usually hear about cases in Jakarta, but not in Bali. Barrie’s site, PlanetMole, mentions recent cases in Yogyakarta in Central Java.

When I arrived in Bali in Jan 2003, the first person I took a liking too was a lady named Putu. She worked at Ryoshi Legian. I visited her family in Mengwi and in the last year or so I have not been to Ryoshi. One of the staf told me Putu worked at Bali Ayu hotel, so I took the opportunity to see if she was around. Showing up I was thinking ‘the guy probably made a mistake, and even if she works here its probably her day off or something’. Asking the receptionist for Putu, he directed me to the spa, where she works as a receptionist.
