Believe it or not, in all the years I have been to Bali I have never visited the Sanur area. I can however recall the only time I went.

Children's Art Exhibition: Sanur, Bali
Creating is in the blood of the Balinese. It could be creating a beautiful piece of sculpture from wood or stone, weaving a product for sale to tourists, putting brush to canvas to express the beauty of their surroundings or their way of life, or looming cloth or making batik.

Turtle Facility Opens: Serangan, Bali
Serangan island or Turtle Island is reached is connected to the mainland by a causeway and really only accessible at low tide. The island is also home to one of Bali's six most sacred temples - Pura Sakenan.

Sanur Village Festival - August 25th-27th, 2006
The village of Sanur is about to host a 3 day festival, involving sports and cultural events. I was checking out Sanur Village’s website and it had some interesting historical information, about the creation of the village. If you are staying in the Kuta area, you might stop on by the Sanur Village Festival. Hop on the Bypass and at the big roundabout you’ll head towards Sanur. Drive will take about 20 minutes.

Tanah Lot International Kite Festival: Bali
On the back of the upcoming Bali Festival of Kites to be held at Padang Galak beach in Sanur comes yet another kite festival but this time to be held at the sacred sea temple of Tanah Lot.

A long time ago I was fortunate enough to witness the spectacular and colourful display of kites soaring in the skies over Sanur. Kites of all shapes and sizes innovatively created make for an exciting competition and one that should not be missed.

Tsunami Warning System: Bali
When the Tsunami hit Sumatra over a year ago and devastated the area as well as the tourist strips along the southern Thailand coast and other places in the Indian Ocean including India and east Africa, it was agreed by the countries concerned that a Tsunami early warning system be set up to avoid further tragedies.
