I can well remember when AIDS first came to the fore rumours abound that you could catch the disease by just kissing and I can recall those awful Grim Reaper advertisements on the television.

People come to Bali for a good time and navigating the array of restaurants, bars, clubs and events can be tricky. Fortunately there is The Beat, a locally made magazine that comes out every 2 weeks highlighting what has gone on before and what will be happening soon.

Due to excessive shopping activity we didn't do any clubbing, but did managed to visit a few bars and pubs. Obviously KuDeTa is still there at the top of the list – although I can't decide whether I prefer later afternoon or full evening-it's a bit of a wave-watching versus stargazing toss-up.
