Several years ago I revisited Goa Gadjah in Central Bali to not only visit friends living in the nearby villages, but also to observe if there had been any major changes to the sacred place. I had arrived a few days after a temple ceremony and took this foto of these amazingly crafted pieces. Ceremonial umbrellas are used all over Bali for a majority of festivals and special rituals. You will find them adorning temple grounds during odalans and other special dates on the Balinese calendar such as Kuningan and Galungan.
