Imlek or Chinese New Year is a spectacular and colourful affair in Indonesia and an event not to be missed if you are travelling in the archipelago. Candika and I are both Bhuddist and this period of the year is a time for us in not only celebration but also a time for families to get together, pray, and, give thanks for the previous year and ask for blessings in the coming year. Fortunately we are in Bali this time for the recent Imlek and both of us revelled in the pageantry and colour at the Vihara Dharmayana in Kuta. It was a fabulous night of celebration with food, great conversation and of course the obligatory Barongsai.
