Sri Kusuma Bungalow
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia
Reservations »

Sri Kusama Hotels and Bungalows on Jalan Legian in the midst of Kuta Beach offers affordable mid range accommodation. Safe, quiet, convenient with friendly manager and staff who are willing to work towards your needs.
Sri Kusama is a mid level hotel and the atmosphere is very relaxed but with a semi formal lobby / check in area. The check in staff are polite and professional, I talked to Miss Ribka about the Bali bombing at length.
As you pass through from the parking area / lobby to the bar / swimming pool you will notice there hotel is laid out with 2 types of rooms, 2-storey type over looking the pool and garden cottage type. The garden has a more tranquil atmosphere with the 2-storey room having more of a party atmosphere during busy times.
Choose this hotel if you want easy access to Jalan Legian, bars, restaurants and nightclubs in the Kuta, Legian area. The beach is 5 minutes walking through Poppies II and the airport is 15 minutes by taxi.
Sri Kusama sits on Jalan Legian behind a Dunkin Donuts and across from Dome coffee shop close to Poppies II. To access the party spots of Seminyak will cost 15,000rp in a taxi and Kuta Square is a 10 minute stroll.
This a basically a 3-star hotel with some very nice cottage in the rear garden, a swimming pool with all day bar adjacent. The 2-story rooms have a view over looking the pool and there is plenty of parking.
There aren’t too many extras here but the family atmosphere makes up for it.
I talked to the Operations manager Made Wijaya who seemed super friendly and very honest. He told me that the staff are really like a family and religious holidays are observed. The staff are friendly with the guests and have the time to get to know them, many guests returning year after year.
I talked to Miss Ribka at the front desk about her experiences during the bombing and she gave me an interview.
Made Wijaya said he and his staff were very willing to work with a guests particular needs.
Made Wijaya calls his hotel the anti-climax of Jalan Legian’. He also tells his guests there are great eating options outside the hotel. I like this honesty and understand how people feel like they can trust him.
Obviously having Dunkin Donuts as a front on the street makes for an unusual appearance, the hotel entrance is actually to the side and is traditional and attractive.
The location on Jalan Legian close to the bar, restaurant, nightclub action is the big draw. Its also an affordable hotel that caters to singles and well as families. During the busy times groups of younger guest would frequent the hotel.
A choice of 2-storey rooms or garden cottages right there on Jalan Legian is a nice option for travelers.
The mellow atmosphere and staff willingness to interact make this a good option.
I would stay at Sri Kusama if I wanted a higher standard of accomodation than a guest house but within a budget. If access to the shopping in Kuta together with the nightlife along lower Jl. Legian was important along with access to the beach and Poppies then this hotel would work.
I would stay somewhere else if I was looking for a higher level of facilities and service. This might not work for a honeymoon couple due to the lack of extras or a family during the very busy times when large groups of youngers might make it noisy.
Jalan Legian isn’t for everyone and if you need a quieter place right outside your hotel you might choose a place in Seminyak.
