Saphir Mabisa Inn
Legian, Bali, Indonesia
Reservations »
The Saphir Mabisa is centrally located mid range hotel in Legian. It offer good access to the shopping, nightlife and restaurants of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak while being fairly close to the beach.
The Saphir Mabisa has a large driveway and tall Balinese style roof giving visitors the impression it is a large fancy hotel. The lobby is simple with the reception at one end and a small bar at the other.
I found the lobby mostly empty of guests and the atmosphere was rather low key.
The garden area is a straight shot through to the pool and restaurant which are small but comfortable.
I’d say once you get into the hotel proper you will feel like you’re in a mid range hotel without the frills of a higher level place.
Saphir Mabisa is adjacent to the Jayakarta hotel on Jalan Pura Bagus Teruna in Legian and is a 10 minute walk from the beach. The immediate are is full of reasonably priced restaurants and bars and is close to Jalan Legian for shopping and affords easy access to Kuta and Seminyak.
For someone looking to stay fairly central but out of the immediate Kuta scene this might be the place.
The Saphir Mabisa describes itself as a boutique 2-star hotel which I guess means it has aspects of a larger hotel while being affordable. The restaurant and pool are small and simple and are not in any way fancy. The rooms are rather basic, but clean and comfortable and all come with TV.
Staff friendliness is a highly rated factor here. Being a 2-star hotel with current low occupancy the staff get more of a chance to talk to the guests than at a larger resort.
The Saphir Mabisa is unique because of its location just off of Jalan Padma in Legian. It is a 2-star hotel with a very nice driveway & lobby with traditional Balinese roof. The location is a big selling point with the shopping of Legian right there as well as Jalan Legian to get you to Kuta or Seminyak. The beach is a 10 minute walk away and is a less stressful environment than Kuta beach.
I would stay here if I wanted access to Legian beach, the shopping of Kuta and the nightlife of Seminyak while enjoying a hotel with a restaurant and pool. The hotel is fairly large but still affordable
I would stay somewhere else if I wanted a more modern hotel with better facilities or wanted a more affordable option such as a guest house in Kuta.
