Ned’s Hideaway: Seminyak Bali

ned's hideawayNed’s Hideaway is a guest house in Seminyak, that offers easy access to everything, for a low price. Located on Gang Bima, Ned’s is a 5 minute walk to the beach, 5 minutes from Bintang supermarket, 30 seconds from Jl. Seminyak, 2 minutes from the party scene and 15 minutes from Kuta by taxi. Ned’s has 10 fan rooms for 80,000rp night and 3 AC rooms for 150,000rp per night (prices vary with season). Checking out the place today, I met Agung, the owner, who was sitting in the restaurant / bar.

Ned’s rooms are simple, clean, with small porch and garden. Agung told me the place is good because it is quiet. When you think ‘Seminyak’ you think mid-upper level hotels (Puri Cendana, Pelangi, Oberoi etc.). You don’t associate Seminyak with guest houses, but Ned Hideaway is in an ideal location, for someone who likes the downtown action.

According to the business card, Ned’s is ‘An Aussie type of motel guest house and bar.’

Hi,

i did checkout Neds Hideout 2 Days ago and cant recommend it. The Room ive seen was wet, not really nice and they wanted to have 80.000 rhp/night for it even for a 3 week stay.

Better go to Losmans just around the corner which has better rooms starting at 50.000 depending on your hageling skills and how long you stay.

does anyone have an email address for Ned’s. I haven’t stayed there for a couple of years and have lost it. I think it is a good spot for me though and have enjoyed it in the past.

I stayed at Ned’s, after I have read the comments here. However, i find this place highly dissapointing!
The room was very basic, it looks a bit run down to me.
The staff were not helpful. No tourist information available at all.
They don’t offer any local breakfast.

The old lady who works at Ned’s during the day was absulutely miserable. She was moody and unhelpful. She even screamed at me when I asked for Indonesian breakfast. She made my first 2 days in Bali “memorable.”

If u pay slightly more i.e. 100,000 Rupiah in Legian, i.e. Agung Cottage, u can get a really nice fan room in a mid range hotel, breakfast included, with swimming pool & helpful staff.

HAVE STAYED AT NED’S HIDEAWAY FOR MANY CONTINUING YEARS. YES THE ROOMS ARE BASIC. CLEANED AND SERVICED EVERY DAY 80.000 RP A DAY FOR A FAN COOLED ROOM OR150.000 FOR AIR CON IS A FAIR PRICE. HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO FAULT THE FOOD. thIS PLACE IS CENTRAL TO GOOD RESTAURANTS AND NIGHT LIFE AND AN EASY WALK TO THE BEACH AREA. WHAT MORE WOULD YOU WANT FROM BUDGET ACCOMODATION.
