Sanur
, Bali, Indonesia

Located on the beach in Sanur at the north end of Jl. Danau Tamblingan the hotel is designed in semi-Balinese style with 2-storey Superior rooms and very cute, newly built villas.

The large white-tiled lobby is decorated with Balinese paintings, Javanese style furniture and traditional umbrellas. The light color scheme give a bright appearance.

Some of the older rooms have a simple, clean feel with white tiled floors, yellow colored walls and not too much decoration. Large 4-poster beds and good wooden furniture add to the comfort level. Terrace furniture is simple wooden chairs and small table.

The bathrooms are very clean.

The hotel has one restaurant and pool and the atmosphere in quiet and relaxing.

Rooms are clean with very nice new wooden furniture and clean linen.

The amenities for all the rooms is basically the same except for the private pools in the villas. The stone capped entrance to he villas, together with the Balinese stonework and plants around the plunge pool help to give you the impression you have a decent amount of privacy and luxury. I really like the way the villa bathrooms lead straight through to the plunge pool, very nice. Of course lounging on the terrace of the villa is way nicer than in the other rooms because you can lock out unwanted distractions. Balinese carved doors are very impressive.

Villas have a hard wood floor which I prefer to the tiles.

Noise in minimal. Gardens are lush and pleasant with ponds.

The rectangular pool sits next to the restaurant close to the beach and also has a kids pool. The area around the pool is rather small but there are about 12 recliners set up for guests to enjoy. A massage table is next to the pool.

The rear part of the lobby is set out with elegant Indonesian style furniture and low tables. Balinese carvings, umbrellas and paintings decorate the area.

Location:
Located on the beach in Sanur at the north end of Jl. Danau Tamblingan the hotel is about 25 minutes from the airport, 20 minutes to Kuta and 30 minutes to Seminyak. It is within walking distance of many bars and restaurants. Being on the beach means guests can take a leisurely stroll from their room, to the pool and out onto the sand.

The hotel is 30 minutes from the airport and 25 minutes from Kuta.

Atmosphere:
The atmosphere is super relaxed at the Diwangkara with the quiet check in area, lush gardens, Balinese style villas and beachside pool and restaurant. The hotel is not a party center and feels tranquil.

Luxury level:
The luxury level here is decent with king-sized bed, en-suite bathroom, hot/cold shower & bathtub, Satellite TV, International Direct Dial (IDD) telephone, Individually controlled AC, Mini-bar, Fruit basket on arrival, in each room and a pleasing environment.

Staff Friendliness:
The front desk manager Agung was very pleasant and helpful as were the older restaurant staff.

What makes this place unique:
The Diwangkara Holiday Villa is unique because it offers a pleasant, tranquil place to to stay on the beach in Sanur. The clean rooms and nice furniture plus the Balinese styling create a relaxing atmosphere. Sanur itself is a village and does have much quieter atmosphere to party central Kuta.

Why would you stay here:
I would stay here if I wanted a place on the beach that was fairly close to the airport and Kuta. If I preferred a quiet, tranquil atmosphere to a busy party hotel this would work.

Why would you stay somewhere else:
I would stay somewhere else if I wanted to be closer to the action in Kuta / Seminyak or wanted a cheaper room in a guest house. Also if the 1 pool and 1 restaurant was not enough to keep my family occupied I might go for a bigger hotel.

Noise levels:
Located off of the street and far away from the Bypass the hotel is very quiet. The only noise I can hear sitting in the beach side restaurant is the light music they are playing.

How do the rooms feel:
The rooms feel very nice with a large area, new wooden furniture, Balinese decorations and nice colors.

The villas have 4 poster bed which are great and the bathrooms are clean. The villas have their own private pool which the bathrooms open out onto.

Proximity to the action:
The Diwangkara is on the busiest street in Sanur meaning easy access to the shops and restaurants close by. For a livelier nightlife scene you will have to head to Kuta / Seminyak.

Amenities:
Individually controlled air conditioner, Mini-bar, Fruit basket on arrival, 12 hour room service, Laundry and valet service, Baby cot & extra bed available, Onward hotel & airline bookings, Safe deposit box, Money changer, Car rental and travel agency, Medical service upon request, Large parking area.
