Sales & Marketing Manager: I Ketut Ngetis.
From: Bali

Baliblog: So Ketut Bakung Beach Cottages was built 10 years ago and how long have you worked here?
Ketut: I have worked here around 4 years.

Baliblog: Approximately how big is the hotel?
Ketut: The hotel has 100 rooms not a big area.

Baliblog: Now the design of the hotel. I see blocks of 3–storey rooms next to the swimming pool and next to the pool and restaurant there is a block of 2 storey rooms.
Ketut: We have 2 like a cottage, but not a complete. One cottage 4 rooms 2 floors.

Baliblog: All the rooms are Standard and the come with IDD telephone, TV, fridge, hot water bath tub etc. What about the style of the hotel?
Ketut: It looks Balinese. The owner here made the hotel in Balinese style because we are in Bali.

Baliblog: You have 1 restaurant and 1 swimming pool.
Ketut: Yes 1 restaurant, 1 bar and 1 swimming pool. We serve breakfast lunch and dinner here

Baliblog: What time in morning does breakfast begin?
Ketut: Normally we are open at 7am until 11am for breakfast.

Baliblog: Okay and the pool-bar, what time does it close?
Ketut: The pool-bar closes at 10pm.

Baliblog: Do you have any special entertainment such as Balinese dancing?
Ketut: At the moment we do not have any special entertainment.

Baliblog: For a guest arriving at the airport it takes maybe 10 minutes to get here?
Ketut: Yes 10 minutes.

Baliblog: The hotel is just off of Jl. Kartika Plaza so maybe 5 minute walking to Kuta
Square?
Ketut: Its 5-10 minutes from Kuta Square. To the beach you have around a 5 minute walk.

Baliblog: Pantai Segara in Tuban is the closest beach?
Ketut: Yes.

Baliblog: Most people that come to this hotel are they European, American, Australian?
Ketut: Most of our guests are from Australia and Europe. Some people come from America. We have a mixed market.

Baliblog: As far as age groups do you get younger people, couples, older people, families?
Ketut: Families, young especially.

Baliblog: So you think the hotel would be good for families and also for young people.
Ketut: Yes.

Baliblog: I think it would be good for young people too because its close to Kuta and close to the beach.
Ketut: Young people and also surfers. The period November–February we are full with tourists from Holland. Some of those people have stayed here many times before.

We tend to put the older tourists in the rooms around the pool because they like drinking and the older people in the 3-storey rooms because they like it more quiet.

Baliblog: Your staff, are most of them Balinese?
Ketut: Yes everybody. We have around 60 all of whom are Balinese.

Baliblog: When the hotel was built which rooms were built first and which ones were built last?
Ketut: The 3-storey rooms are the newest, by around 1-2 years.

Baliblog: Do your guests ever give you any feedback about the hotel?
Ketut: They say this is a very friendly hotel because all the staff here are friendly.

Baliblog: Where would you recommend for a guest to walk to from here for dinner or a drink?
Ketut: We recommend the guests go to Kuta Square as there are many, many restaurants. The better restaurants are in Legian. Many young people from Australia go to the Bounty restaurant for drinking.
