Every year I go back to the US (even though I am a stinking POM) for BootsnAll.com's end of year meeting. We talk about how we can make things better for our readers and how I can use my time more efficiently. This year we returned to the same place we went last year, a small town in central Washington called Leavenworth. Its not on the map here, but is a pleasant and queit place to hang out and talk about things. Downtown is themed on a Bavarian town and driving thorugh at night you might think you are in Germany. We checked out a couple of restaurants and enjoyed some Italian and Mexican food on different nights.
The place we stayed in was a cabin that is owned by a freind of ours. It has several bedrooms and sleep about 12. Everyday we would go for an early omring stroll, then get into meetings. Around 6pm we would wrap things up, break out the wine and beer and get dinner ready. I made a log fire every night and last inght we bbq'd, even though the temperature was around freezing. For people thinknig of visiting the US I can highly recommend Oregon and Washington. Beautiful mountains, valleys, high desert and unspolit coastline. Its a different world than the one projected in movies, people take their time and living here is pretty cool.

Washington and Oregon are for outdoors people who like perfect summers and cool rainy/ snowy winters.

i heard its beauty too. my in-laws moved there from SF few years back and never regret their decission. we’re supposedly there for thanksgiving and christmas but unfortunately i have pregger’s niggles right now and won’t risk it. ps: football wise, we beat argentina 3-2 this eve. thanks to Owen me lad!
