When Sean and i came out to Bali in January 2003 to start Baliblog many Balinese locals commented that the name Baliblog was strange. Why belog, they would ask, why Bali stupid?
Belog means stupid in Balinese but our blog comes from the term web- log (BLOG) and means a personal website that people can post to about a shared interest.
The little software package we use, Moveable Type, is pretty nifty and seems to be easy to use and reliable. Here is a recent article about the people who created this version of blog software.

Friends here in OZ have received panic stricken phone calls from their families in Kubutambahan (Singaraja) & Denpasar. Apparently local priests, army & balian are drawing white crosses on houses!?
There is much talk of a Tsunami & the upsetting of the gods… Apparently it all over the news in Bali?? It is believed it has something to do with the Ramayana story, but these families & terrified, they also mentioned daily quakes???
I have SMS’d my inlaws & they say all is fine in Tuban & they know nothing of this?
If you hear of anything can you please post???
