Manager: Oka
I spoke to Oka who is a Duty Manager and comes from the Kuta area. He told me that Aston Bali resort and spa opened in 1997 and has a Central Javanese & Balinese style. The owner is from Java. The service here is excellent and Oka said this is one of the main selling points. The rooms are large with large delux bathrooms. The pool is also wider than most other hotel pools with a swim up bar.
Oka said guests here are mixed between Japanese and Canadian mostly. Others include Aussies and Europeans. The average length of stay for Europeans is 12 nights because of the packages they get, Japanese tend to stay 4-5 nights.
Activities here are created daily by the Activities department and include aqua gym, Balinese dance lessons, movie & dinner. There are abundant watersports to choose from as well as kids activities.
Oka told me the hotel provides a free shuttle bus to the Galleria shopping area in Nusa Dua
I talked to 2 ladies from Singapore in the lobby and asked them what the pros and cons here. They said they really liked the views from the rooms but thought the beach was overated..
